Frequently Asked Questions about Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer

What are Ray-Ban Meta and how do they work?
Ray-Ban Meta are second-generation smart glasses developed by Ray-Ban in collaboration with Meta. They integrate a 12 MP camera, video recording up to 3K, open-ear speakers, microphones, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity into the Wayfarer frame. They allow you to take photos, record videos, listen to music, manage calls, and interact with Meta AI via voice commands, all without using your phone. They connect to the Meta View app (iOS and Android).

What is the difference between Transitions 601/1M lenses and Transition Gray 601S1Z lenses in Ray-Ban Meta?
Both are photochromic lenses that adapt to light, but with different characteristics. The 601/1M (Transitions) lenses change from clear indoors to graphite green outdoors: they are the ideal choice for those who also wear glasses indoors (office, driving) and want a single pair for every situation. The 601S1Z (Transition Gray) lenses start with a slightly darker base and turn gray: they are more suitable for those who use them predominantly outdoors. The 601/1M model is the most versatile for mixed indoor/outdoor use.

Can Ray-Ban Meta be used as prescription glasses with corrective lenses?
No, Ray-Ban Meta are not available with custom prescription lenses. They are smart sunglasses with non-corrective optical lenses. Those who need vision correction can consider using contact lenses combined with Ray-Ban Meta, or wait for any future versions with prescription lenses (not yet available at the moment). For those with slight presbyopia, there are third-party optical inserts compatible with some models.

What is the battery life of Ray-Ban Meta?
Ray-Ban Meta Gen2 have an integrated battery in the temples with approximately 4 hours of active use (photos, videos, audio) and up to 32 hours in standby. The included charging case provides additional charging cycles, bringing the total autonomy to approximately 36 hours. A full charge of the glasses via the case takes approximately 75 minutes.
